Our Approach

Litigation strategy only works if the other side believes you are prepared to try the case. Schwartzbaum builds cases with trial in mind from the outset. That means developing clean legal theories, anticipating evidentiary challenges, working closely with experts, and structuring discovery to tell a coherent story. Whether in state or federal court, Schwartzbaum prepare every case as if it will be decided by a judge or jury. Trial readiness drives better settlements and stronger results.

Representative Matters

Fort Lauderdale Water Main Break (17th Judicial Circuit, Broward County, Florida)

Trials on behalf of certified classes are rare. Adam was a member of a trial team that successfully certified an issue class for certification and later obtained a jury verdict against a liable defendant on behalf of the certified issue class. Adam’s class trial experience sets him apart from most attorneys practicing in this space.

City of Doral Billboard Suit (11th Judicial Circuit, Miami Dade County, Florida)

In a lawsuit brought against the City of Doral by a media company dissatisfied with the City’s decision to reject to put up a billboard on the Palmetto Expressway, Adam second-chaired a bench trial which resulted in a complete defense verdict for his client, the City. Adam was intimately involved in every aspect of the trial, including preparation of trial witnesses and exhibits, drafting questions for direct and cross-examination, and examining witnesses live on the stand. Adam also worked with the appellate team to successfully defend the verdict on appeal.

Private Jet Dispute Between Two Major South Florida Developers (11th Judicial Circuit, Miami Dade County, Florida)

As an associate at White & Case, Adam served on the trial team that defended claims brought against developer Ugo Colombo by Craig Robins concerning a $22 million private jet they once shared. Not only did the trial team obtain a complete defense verdict for Mr. Colombo, but they also succeeded on multimillion dollar counterclaims against Robins for failing to pay his bills.
